Love Never Fails

God has been teaching me a lot about what love is. That loving someone isn't always easy, and sometimes it means being hurt by someone close to you and forgiving them. Loving people is easiest when they treat us well, and when we like their personality. It's harder to love those who annoy us or treat us poorly. I'm not good at loving people unconditionally. I want them to agree with me and respect me. . .and when they don't, I become impatient and angry. I keep trying to love people well in my own strength and I keep failing. . .but I am trusting and praying that God will do a work in my heart so that I may love those who have hurt me. I want people to love me when I treat them wrong, and I need to treat others as I would want to be treated (Luke 6:31). I am learning to be more thankful that God does not treat us as we deserve. Day after day, He pursues us and loves us unconditionally!

"Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth. Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things." 1 Corinthians 13:4-7
